Insurance

Busmiete.ch AG offers the following customer-friendly insurance solutions for bus rentals.

Comprehensive & liability coverage

Fully comprehensive

There is one Fully comprehensive Insurance covering all damage (bodywork, chassis, and vehicle theft) to the rental vehicle. The deductible per claim is CHF 2, which is paid by the renter.

Any damage to the vehicle (tires, rims, rearview mirrors, antenna, seat upholstery and interior, etc.) as well as mechanical damage caused by improper operation/use of the rental vehicle or a breach of duty of care shall be borne by the renter.
The insurance does not cover the luggage and personal belongings of the renter or vehicle user.

Liability

For the minibuses there is a Liability Insurance to cover all legal liability claims of third parties against the owner or driver of the rental vehicle for personal injury or property damage caused by the operation of the rental vehicle.
A CHF 1 deductible per claim is borne by the renter. In the event of gross negligence on the part of the driver, the renter will be liable to the insurance company.

Deductible reduction

For buses up to 3.5t total weight (28 seats) you have the following option:
The deductible of CHF 1000 or CHF 2000 (liability/fully comprehensive) can be reduced to a total of CHF 350 for an additional fee.

The costs for this service can be calculated online in the Price calculator for vehicle rental. 
Larger buses over 7.5 tons and trailer rentals without a rental bus/towing vehicle from Busmiete.ch are excluded from this service. In these cases, the deductibles of CHF 2000/1000 remain in place in the event of a claim.

Breakdown and accident assistance

Our rental vehicles are insured with the TCS (Touring Club Switzerland). In the event of breakdowns or accidents, assistance is provided throughout Europe.

This includes:

  • On-site assistance, ideally on-site repairs and subsequent onward journey.
  • Otherwise, a replacement vehicle will be provided.
  • Alternatively, the additional hotel costs will be covered.
  • If the journey is interrupted due to an accident, the passengers and the vehicle will be returned to Switzerland upon request.
  • In the case of injured passengers, a quick and competent repatriation is guaranteed!

 

The exact details, emergency numbers and emergency scenarios will be handed out when the bus is handed over and are readily available in the vehicle's logbook.

7 x 24h helpline from Busmiete.ch:

A 24-hour assistance service is provided for our customers traveling by bus.
If you have any questions (operating the vehicle!), problems or emergencies with the rental bus, you can reach us around the clock (24/7/365) via our service numbers as detailed on the bus.

Passenger insurance

Every Swiss citizen is privately insured (accident insurance) for disability and death.

Additionally, our passenger insurance is available in the event of a claim. This insurance is a strong guarantee, especially for international passengers, who are not always covered by private insurance.

Each passenger is (additionally) insured by passenger insurance according to the following list:

  • Death: CHF 30
  • Disability case: CHF 60
  • Medical costs insured
