What is a CZV certificate of competence?

Only mandatory for professional drivers!

In short: Professional drivers of categories D and D1 for vehicles with more than 8+1 seats must complete 5 hours of CZV continuing education courses within five years. CZV stands for Chauffeur Licensing Regulations. This certificate of competence confirms the completion of these courses. This law came into force on September 35, 1. This certificate allows commercial Passenger transport.

CZV courses are offered by various providers throughout Switzerland.

If the driving licence category D1 / D and C1 / C has been passed after 1 September 2009, a 5-part CZV test be filed.

There is a possibility reduced CZV test (1x oral, 1x practical), you should already have a valid certificate of competence for freight or passenger transport.

Note:

If you use our buses privately and/or for non-commercial purposes, you don't need a driver's license. However, for commercial trips, this license is mandatory.
