Find out about
We operate with 45 to 60 vehicles. We offer the full range, from 7-seat vans to coaches with up to 55 seats. In between, you'll also find a large number of minibuses and midibuses with 10-28 seats. Divided into three comfort classes: Standard, Business, and VIP.
Each vehicle is insured with comprehensive, third-party, and passenger coverage. The comprehensive deductible (CHF 2000) and third-party deductible (CHF 1000) can be reduced with additional insurance, which can be ordered when ordering the vehicle. In brief, the following applies to self-drivers (according to Swiss and EU law):
Driving license category:
Category B: Up to 8+1 seats
Category D1: Up to 16+1 seats
Category D: From 17+1 seats
For Category D1, it's important to check whether you obtained this category under the old law without an additional test. In that case, your vehicle's total weight limit would be 3.5 tons. Keep this in mind when selecting vehicles. Further details can be found at: https://busmiete.ch/bus-ohne-fahrer-mieten/fuehrerausweise/
Every vehicle at Busmiete.ch is equipped with a digital tachograph, which can be operated with the personal driver card.
When is a driver card mandatory?:
- If you transport people commercially (taxi, bus, and travel agency companies) and offer transport and travel for a fee, the driver must have a driver card.
- Buses with a total weight of more than 3.5 tons must always be driven with a driver card. Whether they are used for commercial purposes or not, it doesn't matter.
If you rent a 3.5t vehicle and make internal and private journeys for your company, club, school or family, you do not need a driver card in Switzerland and the EU.
Professional drivers who carry out commercial passenger transport attend annual further training courses, which are confirmed in the certificate of competence.
Self-drivers for clubs, families, companies, or other organizations who carry out transport internally and free of charge do not require a certificate of competence or further training. More details here: https://busmiete.ch/bus-ohne-fahrer-mieten/fuehrerausweise/faehigkeitsausweis/
